FORT LAUDERDALE, Fl.- January 27, 2016 – Over-the-Air (OTA) software leader Movimento is today receiving a Business Impact Award from TMCnet for its innovative efforts to expand the available technology landscape for software-defined cars. The award was given at the Connected Transportation Conference, part of the IoT Evolution Conference & Expo taking place in Fort Lauderdale from January 25 to 28. Movimento CTO Mahbubul Alam will be presented with the award and is speaking at the event at 8:30 a.m. today.
Although Movimento has been making a name for itself through its market leading OTA platform – the first to update an entire car’s software systems wirelessly – the company has received recent attention through efforts to create an ecosystem of best-of-breed partners. Notably, these partners aren’t necessarily from the automotive sector and thus enrich and accelerate connected car technology.
“Our goal is to help make vehicles into the safer, more reliable, more feature-rich and easy-to-drive machines of tomorrow,” explained Alam. “We believe that bringing outstanding solutions in areas like data gathering and analysis, and security to the automotive sector is the best way to push the industry forward.”
According to Carl Ford, reporter for IoT Evolution World and partner at Crossfire Media, “We want to join Movimento in celebrating their customers IOT deployments. Their role as a partner to their client has advanced the connected car. The business impact awards highlights successful implementations and applications. I want to thank Movimento for being part of the Business Impact Awards.”
Movimento’s OTA platform is aimed at enabling OEMs and tier-one suppliers to rapidly introduce new cost saving and value creating services, ultimately giving drivers a more personalized, functional automobile whose value is never static, but has the potential for process and product improvements into the future. The company has deep experience in the automotive industry and combines that knowledge with Silicon Valley innovation. These efforts also help boost the industry’s fortunes, helping create vehicles that can open up new sources of profits long after cars leave the showroom floor.
Movimento is a pioneer in vehicle lifecycle management through a secure over-the-air (OTA) platform having successfully completed millions of vehicle and module updates for major OEMs and tier-one suppliers worldwide. Industry leaders such as Bosch, Continental, Denso, GM, Delphi and Mitsubishi Electric, and Volvo rely on Movimento technology and expertise for secure updates throughout the vehicle production lifecycle – from R&D through production to aftermarket. In business since 2003, Movimento has offices in the United States, Europe, China, and Mexico. Visit www.movimentogroup.com and follow the company on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
