Ben Hoffman, CEO and President
Ben Hoffman stands at the forefront of one of the fastest moving technology trends in automotive: vehicle software management. A customer-focused business leader with deep technical expertise, Ben has championed connected car technology for over a decade, growing Movimento from an entrepreneurial start-up to a successful global automotive supplier.
Today Ben is responsible for setting the Movimento vision and strategic direction. He has a solid reputation for creating customer value by empowering people at all levels of the organization and is respected for his intrinsic understanding of the complex market dynamics of cutting-edge vehicle technology.
Ben holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the General Motors Institute (Kettering University), and has more than 20 years of varied experience at companies throughout the automotive value chain including Roush and Bosch.
Mahbubul Alam, CTO and CMO
Mahbubul Alam joined Movimento as CTO in 2015 and is responsible for aligning automotive and information technology with corporate strategy to enable Movimento to better lead the automotive industry’s transition to software-defined vehicles. A 17-year industry veteran, Mahbubul works with Movimento customers to maximize the potential of secure over-the-air (OTA) updates and enable new connected services for the vehicle.
Previously, Mahbubul led Cisco Systems strategy in IoT and M2M, where he pioneered and developed this business from the ground up through vision, strategy, platform, and execution. He also helped initiate the company’s smart connected vehicle roadmap. Before joining Cisco, Mahbubul held technical leader positions at Siemens and worked as a technical advisor to the Dutch government.
Mahbubul holds a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands.
Thomas Stroin, COO and CFO
Ensuring peak performance and optimizing costs are just two ways in which Tom Stroin contributes to Movimento’s rising success. A cross-functional and agile leader who consistently influences many aspects of the business, Tom is responsible for developing all operational and fiscal plans, and ensuring their smooth execution. He is known for his composure, determination, and pragmatism under pressure.
Prior to joining Movimento, Tom held several key executive roles at ABB Group, including North American CFO, where he was financially responsible for the organization’s $400M robotic automation business with five geographic locations, one thousand employees, and eight business units.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from Rutgers University and is passionate about continuous improvement, global collaboration, and management-team development.
Chad Holdsclaw, GM APAC
Chad Holdsclaw is a pioneering executive who is passionate about creating international businesses, and leading global innovation through multi-cultural exchanges and engineering methodology. As General Manager of Movimento Asia Pacific, he is responsible for all countries in that region.
Prior to joining Movimento, Chad founded and managed Ford Motor Company’s Electrical/Electronic Integration Team in China, which led systems development of the first two vehicle programs ever designed by Ford locally in China. He and his team also partnered with Ford’s Chinese joint ventures to successfully lead diagnostics and systems integration for more than 12 global vehicle programs localized for the Chinese market, which supported Ford’s rise from tenth to fourth in automotive sales in China.
Chad began his career at BMW’s manufacturing facility in the United States, and later relocated to the BMW R&D Center in Munich, Germany. During that time, he was responsible for vehicle test system development of BMW’s X-series and 7-series. While residing in Germany, Chad transitioned to a role in Ford of Europe’s newly formed Software Development Team, and was a founding member of Ford’s In-Vehicle Software System (IVS), which manages and distributes embedded ECU software for all Ford vehicles globally.
Chad holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in German Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Master’s in Technology and Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dan Presidio, VP of Engineering
Dan Presidio’s integrity, passion, business acumen, and analytical mind make him ideally suited as Movimento’s VP of Engineering. Currently responsible for international product development and sustainable product delivery, Dan’s distinguished career spans over two decades and includes leading roles in automotive product development at both Visteon and Ford. Among his many accomplishments are several awards for improved quality and productivity.
Driven to ensure Movimento’s success and perfectionistic by nature, Dan is committed to his clients and employees. He devotes his time to strategic planning while enabling and supporting others to do their best work with his judgment, insight, experience, and influence. To ensure flawless product delivery, Dan also provides the necessary discipline, process, and structure that help teams execute with precision and scale as required.
Dan holds an MBA from Eastern Michigan University and a BSc in computer science from Michigan State University, and has served on the Board of Directors for MSU’s College of Engineering.
Rob Crawford, VP of Sales
Rob Crawford is a senior sales executive and collaborative team builder whose entrepreneurial instincts and multi-million dollar record have helped numerous companies realize profitability and growth. In every company, including Tweddle, Airbiquity, Navigon, Navteq, and TI Automotive, Rob has achieved outstanding individual and team results. At Movimento he is responsible for driving global sales growth across all business streams and fostering a world-class sales organization.
Rob is known for his passion for business, his respect for others, and his commitment to meeting customer needs. His tenacity, loyalty, and creativity consistently win business against well-established, global competitors. He gains tremendous personal satisfaction from helping customers find innovative solutions to complex technical challenges, and enjoys mentoring others to do same.
